My philosophy

Spaces that live with us

Spaces are more than just walls, furniture, and décor. They are the echo of our inner self – our retreat, our expression, our resonance. They influence how we feel, how clear we think, and how we act.

Yet, they often don’t reflect what we truly need. They are too full, too chaotic, too disconnected from us. And sometimes, all it takes is a small touch – a hint of color, a well-placed light, the transformation of a beloved piece of furniture – for a space to shift and feel right again.

Sometimes, a subtle adjustment is enough. Other times, it requires a comprehensive realignment. But the goal is always the same: to create spaces that are alive, with authentic materials, colors that evoke emotions, and light that breathes.

Mindful Design

Less, but with Meaning

Good design is not about adding more, but about choosing wisely. Authentic, natural materials have a living quality that we can instinctively feel. Wood, stone, clay, lime paints, metal – materials that breathe, age, and tell stories.

Minimalism, to me, is not about emptiness, but intentional reduction. A space doesn’t need much to be powerful – it needs clarity, balance, and the right focus. Often, all it takes is a carefully placed detail, a well-chosen color, or a new layout to bring a space into harmony with its inhabitants.

🔹 How do I achieve this?

Always in close collaboration with the people who use the space. Some already know what they want and need someone to precisely bring their ideas to life. Others need support with spatial planning, investment assessment, contractor coordination, or legal requirements.

And then there are those who want to go deeper – who see their space as a reflection of their inner journey, a place for clarity, growth, and inspiration.

For them, I have developed two tools:

Harmoniacum Box – to discover which colors, sounds, and scents intuitively support them
Vision Quest – to consciously design spaces as an extension of the self

HARMONIACUM BOX

Understanding What We Truly Need

Our favorite colors are not random. We feel drawn to them because they reflect our inner desires. Harmoniacum combines color, sound, and scent to help us intuitively understand what strengthens and supports us.

Sometimes, it’s the gentle color design of a meditation space. Other times, it’s a subtle room accent that brings calm and balance. Harmoniacum provides answers to what our space – and we ourselves – truly need.

Vision Quest

Spaces as an Extension of Ourselves

A space is never just a space. It can foster growth, bring clarity, and reflect our identity.

The Vision Quest goes even deeper than Harmoniacum. It helps us gain certainty about what we truly need – not just in terms of color but in the entire design of our living and working environments.

It is for those who want to consciously shape their surroundings to reflect their inner self and support their personal development.

Mindful & Cost-

Conscious Design

New doesn’t have to mean expensive. A well-thought-out concept often means rethinking existing elements rather than replacing everything. I focus on cost-efficient solutions, making conscious design accessible to everyone.

🔹 This can mean:

Revitalizing a well-preserved piece of furniture instead of discarding it.
Rearranging spaces to improve their functionality.
Rethinking light, making spaces appear larger, warmer, and more vibrant.
Comprehensive renovation when needed – for example, during a restoration.

Whether it’s a small transformation or a complete renewal – every space deserves to be vibrant and harmonious.

Designing Meaningful Spaces – Ready for the First Step?

If you feel your space can be more than it is today, let’s explore together what it truly needs. Sometimes, a small detail is enough – other times, it takes a vision.

– Your Interior Designer

"Horst Stuffer supported me with empathy and competence in setting up my Jin Shin Jyutsu practice in Natz. Together we redesigned the room, which had previously been used as a guest room, according to the IVM method. Unnecessary elements were removed and the colour of the walls was chosen with great care. Thanks to Horst, I now have a truly 'healing' room to myself.“

Water flows through rocks - symbolising flow and energy Description: Water stands for constant movement and change. I integrate this philosophy of flow into my spatial concepts to create dynamic and vibrant living spaces that contribute to a conscious lifestyle.
